I have been a member of facebook for sometime. I found myself becoming slightly addicted to checking it on a regular basis. I then realised that whether one of my friends, friends of friends or colleagues was eating cereal whilst still in their pajamas at 3 in the afternoon was really not important to me and I could be making better usage of my free time. It's easy to compare your life to those of your very professional go getter type friends and feel a little inferior. I can also see the advantages of keeping up todate with friends and family overseas and sharing photos. I have recently deactivated my facebook but not cancelled it entirely just incase I feel the need to be nosey and check out whats going on in other peoples worlds. I felt a little mean too when people would want me to be their friends when I really didn't have anything in common with them anymore and couldnt see the use of continuing with the relationship, in person or in facebook.
Really Simple Syndication is a handy tool to bookmark your favourite sites and get updated information from them to your google reader without having to log into each individual site. All your fav hollywood gossip can be yours on one page and is updated as new details come to hand. Those little orange signs didn't really mean anything to me previously but now make things easy for me and alleviate scrolling through all the advertsing.

Kims Library Land

Today was a steep learning curve and that was just setting up a gmail account!

Thank goodness Cushla is a very patient facilitator.

We familiarised ourselves with CCLlearn and learnt our mantra DISCOVER EXPERIMENT REFLECT SHARE APPLY.

We chose our optional modules and with an open mind and a willingness to learn I am hopeful of suprising myself with my new knowledge of the Digital World.

This will be beneficial in both my personal and professional life.

Bring it on!
